What are the legal grounds for using your data?

We process your data because it is necessary to form an agreement. This agreement covers the use of the platform and the transactions that occur as a result of using chauffeur services via the platform. Additionally, we need your data to facilitate contracts between you and independent private drivers. Who has access to your data?

Within Rent A Bob, only individuals whose roles require access to your personal data have it, and all such individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Outside of Rent A Bob, your data is shared with third parties only when absolutely necessary to execute a task. For example, we may share your contact details with a driver before a ride or exchange your data with a payment provider to process transactions. Only the data relevant to that party is shared—nothing more.

Where is your data stored?

Your data is stored in secured databases, primarily located in the Netherlands. We do not have servers on-site, ensuring that no personal data can be stolen in the event of a physical break-in.

What data is stored?

  • Direct or indirect identifying data, such as name, address, and phone number, for setting up agreements or contacting you.
  • Bank details for direct debit agreements, with your authorization required for any charges.
  • Contact records such as call recordings and emails for quality improvement, evidence, and review purposes.
  • Website and app usage data, such as cookies and IP addresses, for improving the platform and providing targeted advertisements or banners.

How do we obtain your data?

We receive your data when you provide it to us via the website or email.

How long do we retain your data?

We keep your data no longer than necessary, though some legal obligations apply:

  • Call recordings are deleted after 30 days unless required by law to retain them longer.
  • Inactive customer accounts are deleted after 7 years. After this period, data is anonymized for internal use.
  • The Dutch Tax Authority requires us to keep records of invoices, payments, and orders for 7 years. After that, only anonymized data is used for reports.
  • Consent for newsletters or personalized messages is stored for up to 5 years.

Do we share your data with others?

Your data may be used within the platform by clients, drivers, payment providers, and Rent A Bob, but only when necessary for agreements. We do not share your data with any other parties. Period.

What are your rights?

You have the right to access the data we have stored about you. You can also request corrections or deletion of your data via our website or email. Additionally, you can object if you believe we are using your data in a way that goes beyond your consent or legitimate interest.
